IIT Madras Develops Low-Cost 5G Chip for Rural Connectivity

The chip supports sub-6 GHz bands and is compatible with indigenous 5G stacks. The team has partnered with Tejas Networks for mass production. The government aims to deploy the chip in BharatNet phase 2 projects.
